This impeccable, 225-square-foot modern master bath by designer Robin Kelley-Smeal, ASID, looks polished because of her blend of materials—a honey- colored wood veneer with elegant marble—and sleek interplay of curvilinear shapes. She created the bath in the new Fall brook home of Steve and Colleen Aisle, owners of the Fall brook Fine Art Gallery.
By pairing two shades of earth-tone marble in the two-person shower/spa and on the counter top, this young designer proves minimalism needn’t be cold or stark. The bath is warmed further with the addition of a darker hue of unstained, quarter-sawn anigre, a golden-tone African hardwood.
Kelley-Smeal also added convenience and storage. Hidden behind double vanity mirrors and the wood panel that separates them are 8-inch-deep medicine cabinets. Attached to the wall, the two sink vanity seems to float, lightening the feel of the room. Low-sheen, creme marfil marble floor tiles soften the look.
A. All bath products, including the Kohl-er Caxton sink, the Kohl-er Purist bath/spa and the Newport Brass fixtures, are from European Bath, Kitchen, Tile, Stone in Solar Beach.
B. The medicine cabinets behind the mirrors are by Robern, a division of Kohl-er (Robern.com).
C. Counter top and shower are made of Breccia Oniciato marble from Import Stone.

E. A curved, freestanding wall, built by contractor Rich Strobe, separates the shower from the vanity area. The cabinetmaker fabricated and installed the wood paneling.
F. The floor’s creme marfil marble tiles are from Import Stone, San Marcos.
